Questions about shipping & services at our Hamtramck counter

Straight answers from Bengal Enterprise — a FedEx Authorized ShipCenter and DHL service point at 12170 Conant St Ste E, Hamtramck, MI 48212. Tap a question to expand.

Yes — every drop-off gets a printed receipt with the tracking number, every time. No exceptions, whether it's a prepaid return or a new shipment. Keep it until delivery is confirmed.

Yes. Bring the item and your prepaid label (on your phone is fine) and we'll print, attach, and scan it. For FedEx Express returns, call ahead at (313) 733-4374 to confirm the Express pickup schedule so your return goes out the same day.

Every international shipment needs a customs declaration listing each item and its value. We fill it out with you at the counter — bring the recipient's full address and phone number, and leave the box unsealed so contents can be verified. We send DHL shipments to Bangladesh, the UK, France, and Canada every week, so we know exactly what each destination requires.

Bring the item as-is. We double-box fragile pieces with bubble wrap and hand-placed cushioning, and we stock new boxes in every size plus padded envelopes and document mailers. Proper packing also protects your declared value if you add shipment coverage.

Yes. We shoot to the official size, background, and lighting rules for US passports and most embassy and visa applications — including Bangladesh — and print them on the spot. If a photo is ever rejected for a technical reason, come back and we'll retake it.

Prices are posted at the counter: resume $10; job application $15 without a resume or $25 with one, plus $10 for each additional application. Medical applications: single $25, $30 with ID, $35 with FAP; family $35, $45 with ID, $50 with FAP. Staff speak English and Bengali, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Your printed receipt has the tracking number. Enter it at fedex.com or dhl.com, or call us at (313) 733-4374 and we'll check it for you — for domestic and international shipments alike.

Before you visit

How to choose a shipping center — and what to bring

A good shipping counter weighs your package in front of you, prints the label while you wait, and hands you a receipt every single time. Use this checklist before your next drop-off.

1. Look for an authorized counter. A FedEx Authorized ShipCenter and DHL service point scans your package into the carrier's system on the spot — no third-party handoffs and no mystery about where your parcel went.

2. Insist on a printed receipt. Your receipt carries the tracking number and proves the drop-off happened. We give one with every package, every time — keep it until delivery is confirmed.

3. Bring the recipient's full address and phone number. Carriers need a street address and a working phone — especially for international deliveries, where the driver may call the recipient. Double-check the spelling and postal code before you leave home.

4. Shipping international? Leave the box unsealed. Customs declarations for Bangladesh, the UK, France, or Canada list every item and its value, and the contents may need to be verified at the counter. We seal it properly after the paperwork is done.

5. Bring photo ID for document services. Medical applications, job applications, and notarized paperwork often require ID — and some prices depend on it (medical application: single $25, $30 with ID, $35 with FAP). Bringing it on the first visit saves a second trip.

6. Ask for prices upfront. Our prices are posted at the counter: resume $10, job application $15 (or $25 with resume, $10 each additional), passport photos while you wait. No surprises when it's time to pay.

Glossary

Shipping terms, explained in plain language

Whether you're sending a box to Bangladesh or an overnight envelope across Michigan, these are the terms you'll hear at the Bengal Enterprise counter — so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Air Waybill (AWB) the shipping label and contract for an international shipment. The AWB number is what you use to track a DHL parcel door to door.

Customs Declaration the form listing every item in an international package and its value. Required for Bangladesh, the UK, France, Canada, and everywhere else — we fill it out with you at the counter.

FedEx Ground vs Express Ground travels by truck (1–5 business days, lowest cost). Express is the time-definite network: Express Saver (3 days), 2Day, Standard Overnight, and Priority Overnight.

Dimensional Weight carriers charge by size or scale weight, whichever is greater. A big, light box can cost more than a small, heavy one — we help you pick the right box size to avoid it.

Duties & Taxes fees the destination country may charge before releasing an international package. They depend on the declared value and item type — declare honestly to avoid delays.

Tracking Number the unique code printed on your receipt. Enter it at fedex.com or dhl.com to follow the package — or call us and we'll check it for you.

Proof of Delivery (POD) the carrier's record of when and where a package was delivered, often with a signature. Useful for valuable or time-sensitive shipments.

Flat-Rate Box one price for anything that fits in the box, up to the weight limit. Great for dense, heavy items; not always the cheapest for light ones — ask us to compare.

Prepaid Label a return or shipping label someone already paid for — usually emailed to you by a store. Bring it on your phone; we print, attach, scan, and hand you a receipt.

FAP Fingerprint/Applicant Processing added to a medical application. It changes the posted price: single application $35 with FAP, family $50 with FAP.
